29 JAN, 2018, Bandung, Indonesia: Boatman and rubbish scavenger Asep Satia Permana navigates through the polluted Citarum river at Cihampelas village down from Saguling dam outside Bandung, Indonesia. The river is listed as one of the most polluted rivers in the world. It will soon be the main water supply system for Jakarta as the bores that have been dug into the aquifers dry but it also supports agriculture, fishery, industry, sewerage and electricity. The Indonesian Government is moving to urgently try to clean the system up but it is fighting massive infrastructure issues and toxic industrial dumping. Picture by Graham Crouch/The Australian
