16 December, 2012, Kochin, INDIA: Local women walk past giant charcoal murals of Australian artist Daniel Connell on the streets of Fort Kochi at the Kochi-Muziris Biennale. Aussie artists on display at  India's first Biennale in Kerala. The Biennale curators travelled Down Under to select an exciting group of artists to take part in this celebration of contemporary art from around the world, which is expected to become one of Asia's best arts events. The Biennale  acknowledges the cosmopolitan modernity of Kochi and the international connections established by the ancient port of Muziris that existed 30km north of Kerala's current commercial capital.
