21 May 2019, Bangun Village,East Java, Indonesia: Local rice farmer Tori (bottom of frame with silouette) stands in his paddy that is surrounded by a plastic rubbish dump in Bangun Village outside Surabaya, Indonesia. Millions of tonnes of recyclable plastic trash from Australia and Europe is dumped for rag pickers to separate and sort. The plastics are used to fuel fires at local tofu factories among other industries. Australia is illegally sending non recyclable trash hidden within this lode and the Indonesian Government is cracking down on the practice and preparing to refuse to take Australia's rubbish that is creating environmental and health issues locally.
